5G wireless technology is designed to provide multi-gigabit per second peak data rates, ultra-low latency, improved reliability, huge network power, increased availability, and a more consistent user experience to a larger number of users. How to switch off 5G on iPhones?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While the latest 5G wireless standard holds the enormous potential of speeding up your iPhone’s wireless data transfer speeds, it also has the potential to drain your battery quickly when allowed. When you’re not using it, here’s how to turn it off to save battery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To begin, go to your iPhone’s Settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Select \u201cCellular<\/strong>\u201d from the Settings menu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tap \u201cCellular Data Options<\/strong>\u201d under \u201cCellular<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tap \u201cVoice & Data<\/strong>\u201d under \u201cCellular Data Options.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To fully disable 5G, go to \u201cVoice & Data<\/strong>\u201d and select \u201cLTE<\/strong>\u201d from the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Optionally, you can choose \u201c5G Auto<\/strong>\u201d from this list to deactivate 5G when it isn’t in use to conserve battery life.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notice that you won’t see 5G as an option if your iPhone doesn’t have 5G activated. When Apple released the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max in 2020, it included 5G support. 5G is not supported by older iPhones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exit Settings after that. 5G is now switched off. Simply go to \u201cSettings\u201d > \u201cCellular\u201d > \u201cCellular Data Options\u201d > \u201cVoice & Data\u201d and choose \u201c5G On\u201d or \u201c5G Auto\u201d<\/strong> if you ever need to turn it back on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
